The A-buses are the primary buses in central Copenhagen. They drive every 3-7 minutes during rush hour (which is between 07:00-09:00 in the morning and 15:30-17:30 in the afternoon) and usually about every 10 minutes before and after rush hour as its shown in Copenhagen bus map. The A-buses serve at all hours. They arrive around every 3 to 7 minutes during the peak rush hour periods, which are 7:00 to 9:00 in the morning and 3:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon. Outside of those peak times they arrive about every 10 minutes or so. These buses also run at night, though less frequently.

Copenhagen S-buses drive every 5-10 minutes during rush hour and every 20 minutes outside of rush hour. The S-buses are faster than the A-busses due to fewer stops. They usually serve between 06:00 in the morning and 01:00 at night as its shown in Copenhagen bus map. These are the buses more geared toward serving the suburban areas outside the city center, and they do not have as many stops as the A-buses. During the peak rush hour times of the day, they arrive every 5 to 10 minutes, and during the rest of the day they run about every 20 minutes.

Night buses in Copenhagen are in service between 01:00 and 05:00 in the night. You can recognise the bus stops by the grey colour of the bus stop signs. The night buses are all N buses, for an example 85N as its mentioned in Copenhagen bus map. The N, or Night Bus. These routes are limited and only run in the middle of the night (about 1:00 am – 5:00 am), when regular bus and train service has stopped.
